Within the framework of the LabGeoNet collaboration network among Italy’s scientific geographic laboratories, GREAL has released its free geoservice system for GIS data processing. The system was developed by the IT office of the European University of Rome under Eng. Marco Spanu: testing was completed on January 23rd and normal operation started the day after.
In the new phase, Dr. Arturo Gallia PhD, tenure-track researcher at Roma Tre University and member of GREAL’s Operational Committee. The activity was inaugurated by a practical exercise involving students from the “GIS and Cultural Heritage Laboratory” of Roma Tre University’s Department of Humanities. In the upcoming months GREAL will initiate formal contacts with LabGeoNet’s member labs so as to offer the service, free of charge, to all the community.
