The Dissemination section includes all activities related to the scientific and cultural diffusion and transfer of knowledge and services, along with the promotion of social and territorial value carried out by GREAL. Aligned with the center’s areas of interest, these initiatives aim to generate a positive impact on society through outreach projects, public education, partnerships with institutions, citizen science, and community engagement. Dissemination, in the Italian university system is officially called “Terza Missione” (Third Mission) meaning that it represents the third line of action – after research and education – that academic institutions are supposed to offer society. It can be conceived as a bridge between academic research and society, reinforcing the role of geographic knowledge in fostering awareness, sustainability, and cultural innovation.
