GREAL presents the Open Call for Pianeta Mare Film Lab!
From December 7 to 11, 2026, at the Italian Institute of Germanic Studies, Villa Sciarra in Rome, videomakers and filmmakers under 30 are invited to take part in a week of creative research dedicated to the climatic, geographical, and cultural changes affecting the Arctic and Greenland.
Through the creative and experimental reuse of archival materials, photographs, videos, and historical maps, participants will bring new life to images of the past, explore new audiovisual languages, and develop new narratives about the present and future of Arctic territories.
A journey weaving together experimental cinema, memory, exploration, and the environment, drawing on the archives of the Italian Institute of Germanic Studies, Wikimedia Italia, and the Italian Geographical Society.
If you are under 30 and eager to experiment with new forms of audiovisual storytelling, this call is for you.
